What is Wrestling Midwest?

Wrestling Midwest is Cleveland-based roleplaying game based on professional wrestling (also called fantasy wrestling). Basically, you create a wrestler and battle against other wrestlers in the company, where winners (and Champions) are decided on the quality of your roleplays for their matches. Basically, you write mini-stories that are all collected in one giant story, which is showcased each week in our weekly broadcast on Sports Time Ohio. It’s a writing community, in other words, where the community writes the story and everyone takes part in creating and running Wrestling Midwest.

Policies

Updated on April 28th, 2009 – Each individual fighter is obligated to read, know and obide by the rules and regulations listed on this page. They are subject to change as time goes on and as the community sees fit.

The Basics

Wrestling Midwest is roleplay-based company, working with original-wrestlers only. We promote community involvement. That means post on the discussion boards frequently and always vote on the roleplay board. It also means, you have full control over what you do in this community. All angles and storylines are developed and carried out by you and the other writers of this community. So, get involved early.

Roleplays

If you are booked, then you are expected to roleplay. If you fail to show to a match, you will be moved temporarily to the dark match section of the weekly shows. If you fail to show to two matches in a row, you will be removed from storylines until you can commit.

A winner will be determined on: roleplaying ability, creativity, and presentation. We will also look at wrestler’s contribution to the WMW community, and the general wrestler strategy for the match. In the case of a tie, it will end in a no-contest.

The limit to roleplays for an event is 2, plus a Response/Goals RP.

WMW does not tolerate any usage of other wrestlers or staff members in roleplays without their written permission.

We hope that you vote on the roleplays of the other members of the community. Those votes will help us decide who wins and who loses.

Show Involvement

Match spots and segments can be sent in to enhance a match or your character’s status in any event. Before or after the match, you can choose to send in a segment (like a backstage interview/attack) to be used while writing results. During your match, you can send in spots that you’d like to see happen. The more detailed your spot, the more control you have over your match, and the greater your chances of winning your match. Each wrestler or tag team is suggested to send in one segment for each event they are scheduled to fight on.

We want to emulate a wrestling show that would actually appear on television.

Titles will be defended once every thirty days.

We encourage the use of our in-house reporters and interviewers in all roleplays and segments. You can use the following characters without permissions: Steven Squires (head interviewer) and John Squires (secondary interviewer).

Community Involvement

We have a low tolerance for harassment by handlers on other handlers. Any handler found harassing other handlers through instant messengers, private messages, the community or emails will result in prompt discipline. This includes recruitment spam. If you feel you are being harassed, cut and paste the unedited conversation and send it to the league owners PM box for further review by the Board of Directors.

Wrestling Midwest offers it’s forums as well as main website for all event organization, competition and community.

Let the community help you. If you have a problem, don’t be afraid to post on the forums or send a PM. We will do whatever we can to help. All questions, comments, and suggestions should go to the community as a whole.

Keep us informed. If you have to take time off for any reason, feel free to post that you are taking time off on the forums. If you have to take a vacation, we will come up with something to fit your schedule until your return. Your record will remain “frozen” until your return, so no cheap losses.

Have a great time wrestling and just have fun in general! WMW offers more than just fedding. WMW offers a community to talk amongst fans of wrestling, as well as anything you’d like to talk about.
