Mat Briefs with Mischa, Webisode 3
Posted: November 10th, 2009 | Category: General News | No Comments »
[The show opens with a different look this time, instead of the normal overhead view, the audience is treated to a Tiki bar style gazebo with bamboo wicker chairs instead of the normal plush chairs at the regular set. Posters pushing the Great Lakes Championship match and the Ace Superior Championship match at El Dia de los Muertos. Mischa steps into the picture, wearing her designer glasses but the rest of her outfit has been changed out for something more suited to the set. She is wearing a sarong over a purple and blue two piece bikini with a smile plastered onto her face as she takes her seat.]
Mischa Barnes - Welcome loyal WMW Webites to another Webisode of 'Mat Briefs with Mischa'. Since the WMW is on tour to Mexico for El Dia de los Muertos, Mat Briefs is traveling with them and bringing this webisode to all you webites from the beaches of Cancun, Mexico. We are in Cancun cause that is where our next guests are currently hanging out and trying their hands at being beach bums, although that doesn't seem to be working well.
[Mischa pauses to take a sip of some beverage in a flowery mug complete with tacky umbrella, her eyes twinkling over the tops of her glasses.]
Mischa Barnes - Without further adieu, our next guest, who skipped that rip off show to be on the best webshow around, and being accompanied as always by the lovely Lilly, WMW's own rock'em sock'em vikinig....KRONIN!
[Kronin and Lilly walk into the bar set up and they sit down, settling into their seats. Kronin grins and leans back in his seat.]
Kronin - Hi there, Mischa. Thanks for having me, and for coming out here to the beach.
Lilly - Hello Mischa.
[Mischa grins and chuckles a bit]
Mischa Barnes - Well a company paid trip out to the beaches of Cancun, you two made the perfect excuse. But seriously thank you both for agreeing to be on Mat Briefs with Mischa and not jumping to that upstart web show that some others did. Are the two of you familar with how this works or do you need a refresher?
[Kronin smiles a bit and nods.]
Kronin - Hmm...I take it you're not a big fan of Shank's new show. I assume with AWS Man showing up there not much will get done. But I know pretty much how this goes, I've watched the other webisodes from you so by all means, feel free to ask me whatever you've got to ask.
Lilly - Yeah, I love mat briefs...kinda glad I don't have to listen to Shank yelling all the time.
[Mischa gives a grin at both her guests]
Mischa Barnes - Lets not keep the fans waiting, Kronin, how did you go from being a Berlin cop to being a hard core rocker and wrestler?
[Kronin grins]
Kronin - Well, I was born when there were still two Germanys. Being raised in that kind of world... it made me appreciate the little things. Unity. After doing my mandatory time in the German Army, I joined the Berlin Police force, ended up as a SWAT team member. While doing that, we had boxing and mixed martial arts competitions against other police departments and the like, from there I moved into competing in regular Mixed martial arts matches and became a pro wrestler when I got to the States. I saw how popular German bands like Rammstein were over here and got into the music scene..
Lilly - I met Kronin after one of his matches in Pride Championship wrestling and we were looking for a singer. He auditioned and bam, Shock Therapy had a singer and Kronin kinda put pro wrestling on hold for awhile to work with us.
Kronin - Then, Wrestling Midwest came to me with an offer and I decided it was time to get back into wrestling and... here we all.
[Mischa pulls out the latest CD from Shock Therapy and holds out to both Kronin and Lilly]
Mischa Barnes - And could I get the two of you to indulge me a bit and autograph that CD for me?
[Kronin grins and takes the CD signing it and handing it to Lilly who signs it as well before handing it back. Mischa lets out a little giggle and puts the CD away before putting on her professional face once more.]
Mischa Barnes - Thank you both for that, now back to the show. El Dia is shaping up to be on big show all around. Outside the matches you are scheduled to be in, what predictions do the two of you have for the show?
Kronin - Hmm, well Valora vs Ryven for the ASC is gonna be off the charts... I think that match is too close to call and could go either way.... Amariie and Jack Reynolds for the Shoot title? That should be a great match too, but much as I like Jack, I think Amariie just might pull the victory off... she's been focused on the Shoot Title totally and let's be honest... in singles competition, she really has been outshined by Druscilla, so I'm sure Amariie is going to still be feeling the need to step her game up a notch. I won't say Jack can't win because he damn sure can, I just think Amariie has a slight edge. As for Hecate and Audrie... heh, I fought Greeks in MMA stuff... they have some brutal moves... I only tapped out once in World MMA competition and... it was a Greek practionier of Pankraton that made me do it... damn shoulder lock is brutal and to be honest... I don't know what the big deal with Audrie is. For someone who goes on about how much skill being a butcher takes, she doesn't show much technical skill in the ring... she's a brawler. can be effective but put a brawler up against a technical specialist like Hecate or Amariie, both of whom use a variety of styles and they're simply outclassed. I think Hecate is going to get back at Audrie and retain the Heartlands Belt. Now Vyper and Pyre.... heh, could go either way, but I'm gonna stick with Vyper... he and I have had a few battles and Vyper's a tough bastard.
Lilly - I pretty much agree on those, though I think Valora's bitten off more then she can chew with Ryven and I think he's going to show everyone that Valora isn't unbeatable.
Mischa Barnes - Alright, it's always good to hear what the other wrestlers think about the big matches. Now what are the expectations you have for your matches at El Dia?
[Kronin thinks for a moment before responding, shrugging.]
Kronin - Well, I'd like to say that I'll be walking out of El Dia with both the Tag Team and GLC titles, but realistically that's going to be really hard to do. I will walk out with the GLC though...I'm long overdue to throw AWS Man a beating...
Mischa Barnes - I think alot of people would enjoy seeing you give AWS Man (Also known as Bill) a beat down. But lets look to the future a moment, looking at those in the WMW currently, who do you two think will be the next generation of WMW greats and destined for the Hall of Fame?
[Kronin's eyes widen in surprise as he thinks about that.]
Kronin - Oh wow well that's a bit of a toughie. At the risk of sounding a bit arrogant, I think people like me, Jade, Valora and possibly even Druscilla and Amariie might be the next generation... now if you mean who from the newest crop is likely to explode on the scene here and become legends and/or hall of famers well.... Hecate definitely has a great chance to do that. Mo' Bad too, if he is able to make the adjustments that newbloods need to make to move themselves up to the next level. Audrie might make it as well, to hear her boasting on her past accomplishments, she was big in her other feds so maybe she'll find a way to keep that trend going here as well.
Lilly - And I think Father Nathan could be as well, he's shown potential in some of his matches, he just needs to find a way to win the big match...
Kronin - Yeah, Father Nathan defnitely has some skill on his side...
Mischa Barnes - All of them very much up and coming stars, and all seem to have alot of potential. Which would you like to face in the ring Kronin and Lilly who would you enjoy seeing him face off against?"
Lilly - Heh... well, I'd like to see Valora and Kronin face off. That should be an awesome match up....
Kronin - Personally, I'd kinda like to face Father Nathan in the ring. I think I could really help him work out some of his issues and find who he is in a match with him.
Mischa Barnes - Interesting...I think the whole world wants to see Valora and Kronin facing off. Father Nathan, that would be an interesting match to say the least.
[Mischa grins and pulls out a pile of index cards]
Mischa Barnes - Now it's time for the fan supplied questions, fair warning, some of these get a bit personal... The first question comes from Daniel in Cleveland. "What match this year has been the most enjoyable to be in and which has been the worst to be in and why?"
Kronin - Hmm... well, as for the best, I'd have to say the triple threat match between me, Ryven and Jade. That was awesome, three of the top submission wrestlers in the ring at the same time... doesn't get any better then that. Worst match had to be the triple threat for the GLC with Jade, AWS and me... to come so close to getting the GLC and falling short....man that sucks...
Lilly - I think both the best and worst match Kronin was in was that Widowmaker mountain match. Spearing people through the door and slamming Mr. Hero through the cage to the mat... awesome moves... best match cause we really saw what Kronin can do... worst match cause Druscilla just kinda snuck in there at the end and stole the win...and the ASC title....
Kronin - Man... I was sore for like... a month and a half after that match...
[Mischa nods her head, wincing a bit at the descriptions of the Widowmaker match]
Mischa Barnes - Would you do that match again..another Widowmaker Mountain?
Kronin - Definitely. As brutal as it can be, you really find out who the better wrestler is in those matches.... it pushes everyone in them to be at their very best.
Mischa Barnes - So perhaps we will get to see Kronin in the next Widowmaker Mountain match whenever that will be. The next question comes from Richard also in Cleveland. "Who in the WMW do you think has been overlooked or is underrated?"
Kronin - Jack Reynolds. Outside of him.... I think a lot of people overlook Ryven. The man went through a few months back and beat every champion in the WMW, he beat Druscilla in a first blood match, is thus far the only person to make her tap out, and has a submission victory over Valora as well, forced her to pass out, but still counts as a win by submission, I believe... I think people should really give Ryven a bit more respect then he currently gets around here as well.
[Mischa nods her head again, thoughtful look on her face]
Mischa Barnes - Interesting answer, and I can see where you are coming from with it. And now we have the question that never seems to go away. Stacy in St. Paul sends it in this week, "Past and present, inside or outside of the WMW, what wrestler or wrestlers do you most want to face in the ring?"
[Kronin grins]
Kronin - A lot of people go on about how strong I am... I'd like to test that against some of the bigger athletes of the world. but mainly... there are three true legends that I'd love to step into the ring with. Taker. Hogan. Sting. I've been in the ring with Druscilla, who's like a female Taker, and that was pretty cool but to be in the ring watching the Deadman himself walk down towards you... that's when you find out what kind of wrestler and person you really are..
[Mischa looks down at the next question and raises her eyebrow]
Mischa Barnes - Oh my, news does travel fast it seem, this next question is from John in Springfield..John wants to hear more about when Lilly was signing ta-tas to use AWS Man's words.
[Kronin chuckles loudly and Lilly blushes a bit.]
Lilly - Well, umm apparently we had some lesbians in the crowd one night who were big fans of mine...
[Mischa raises an eyebrow at that and giggles]
Mischa Barnes - Wonder if Hecate is a fan of your music then..
Lilly - Umm.. wouldn't know if she's a fan or not...
[Mischa gracefully lets it drop at that point]
Mischa Barnes - And that does it for the questions, any final words from either of you ?
Lilly - Yeah, you're looking at the new Great Lakes Champion... and Kronin and I have some plans for when he wins, going to start setting a positive example and really focus on giving the fans what they want...
[Kronin grins.]
Kronin - Yeah, after I win the GLC, I'll get to mix in a bit more fun... should be fun for me and the fans too.

You can e-mail me any questions you have for the wrestlers or even suggest wrestlers to interview at mischa@wrestlingmidwest.com or leave me at tweet @wmwmischa. We will save the questions and when we have that wrestler on the show, we will do out best to get to them. I'm Mischa Barnes and thank you for joining me on 'Mat Briefs.'
